iDevices, a leading product and app development company, specializing in the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connected market, has been selected by Viking Range, LLC as its partner for developing innovative, wirelessly connected Viking Professional products.

The partnership will kick off with the development of a wireless temperature-monitoring system to be implemented into the Viking Professional 7 Series Range. A Bluetooth Smart temperature-monitoring device designed and developed by iDevices will be retrofitted into the Viking 7 Series Range and will connect to users' smart devices through the iDevices Connected app (available immediately for iOS devices with Android compatibility to launch in late 2014).

"The Internet of Things is experiencing unprecedented growth and consumer brands are quickly realizing the need to develop products to meet consumer demand," said Chris Allen, Chief Executive Officer of iDevices. "This relationship demonstrates the advancement of the technology and the role it will play in consumers' everyday lives."

With the wireless temperature monitoring system, Viking temperature probe, and free iDevices Connected app, Viking Professional 7 Series Range owners will be able to conveniently indicate what they are cooking in their free iDevices Connected app, leave the temperature probe in the food, and receive an alert on their smart device once the food is cooked to the desired temperature. The app also offers exclusive recipes, temperature graphing, social sharing and customizable timers.

The Viking Professional 7 Series Range, the most premier Viking range yet, features 23,000 BTU Elevation Burners with brass flame ports adapted from the Viking Commercial product line, combined with a full-featured convection oven to create a restaurant-caliber range unlike any other in the residential market.

"We continue to develop product and innovation that helps the Viking customer be the best home chef possible," said Kevin Brown, VP Engineering for Viking Range, LLC. "We are excited about this partnership and the initiatives to provide the best products for our customers."

"Viking is already one of the most exceptional brands in the appliances market," said Mike Daigle, chief operations officer of iDevices. "The combination of Viking's top-of-the-line product with our leading-edge wireless connectivity should make this range one of the most advanced in the market."
