MODESTO, Calif., Feb. 2, 2016 /PRNewswire/ Almond Board of California (ABC) offers a variety of resources to help consumers and others learn about the California Almond industry. The resources allow the public to follow along and ensure that intentions are aligned with actions as the California Almond community strives to accelerate innovation in the coming years to increase overall sustainability 1.

Almond Almanac 2015
An essential publication about the California Almond industry, Almond Almanac 2015 is an annual report which outlines industry statistics, programs and results. Compiled on a crop-year basis (August 1 to July 31) and published every December, the Almond Almanac includes comprehensive information about almond production, acreage and varieties, as well as market, shipment, and ABC programs. It also includes new infographics focused on key areas for the California Almond community water efficiency, honey bee health, and sustainability.

AlmondSusainability.org
A new website, AlmondSustainability.org, complements the industry's primary website, Almonds.com, with a wealth of information about the California Almond community's longstanding commitment to environmentally responsible farming and production practices. It covers nine different sustainability categories ranging from water efficiency and management to bee health and the local community.

Almonds.com Newsroom
The Almond Board's Newsroom has been updated to provide streamlined content resources. Accessed at Almonds.com/Newsroom, this new site includes content ranging from news from the Almond Board and media articles about almonds, to fact sheets, infographics and multimedia. Compiling materials previously spread across several websites to a single site; it is now accessible to everyone from journalists and bloggers to almond consumers and farmers.

Almond Board Blog
The Almond Board blog continues to provide factual, relevant commentary about issues facing the California Almond community. In 2015, the blog featured 70 entries, several penned by guest industry-member bloggers. From detailing how over the last twenty years almond farmers have reduced the water needed to grow a pound of almonds by 33% 2 to announcements of bold new partnerships with environmental groups Sustainable Conservation and Environmental Defense Fund, the blog provides vital context for those following California Almonds.
