Washington School of Ballet Announces Auditions for Next Season, 6/11

WASHINGTON, D.C. -The Washington School of Ballet (TWSB) is holding auditions
(Pre Ballet and up) for its Northwest DC and Alexandria, Virginia campuses for the 2016.2017 school year beginning this month. Auditions include a technique class where students will be assessed on technical ability and age-appropriate standards. Prior experience is not expected for Pre-Ballet level.

AUDITION DATES: Saturday, June 11, 2016 (Ages 4-19)

Sunday, July 17, 2016 (Ages 4-10)

Saturday, August 13, 2016 (Ages 4-19)

(Auditions last roughly one hour)

WHERE: The Washington Ballet's England Studio

3515 Wisconsin Avenue, NW Washington, DC

Auditions are for students interested in taking classes at the Northwest DC or Alexandria, Virginia campuses.


MORE INFO: For the audition, girls should wear a leotard, tights and ballet shoes. Girls on pointe should bring pointe shoes. Boys should wear black tights, ballet slippers and a white t-shirt. However, if a child has never danced before, he/she may wear form fitting, comfortable clothing for the audition. Students should remove all jewelry and hair should be pulled back from the face and secured, preferably in a bun for girls.
