Metropolitan Ballet to Present TEA FOR RUBY, 11/23-24

Metropolitan Ballet Company (MBC) will open its season on Saturday, November 23rd and Sunday, November 24th with two exciting productions. The family-oriented program will feature a company premiere of Tea for Ruby, adapted from the picture book by #1 New York Times best-selling, Fancy Nancy illustrator, Robin Preiss Glasser, and author Sarah Ferguson, The Duchess of York. David Lichine's Graduation Ball, the classic comedy ballet in one act, will complete this action-packed program, sure to delight children of all ages.

As a special treat, Metropolitan Ballet Company will also welcome Robin Preiss Glasser, the illustrator of the Fancy Nancy series, to our community. Glasser, who was previously a dancer with Pennsylvania Ballet, will be available for book signings at all four performances.

The performances will be held at 12:30pm and 4:30pm on Saturday, November 23rd and 1:00pm and 4:00pm on Sunday, November 24th at the Josephine Muller Auditorium at Abington Friends School, 575 Washington Lane, Jenkintown, PA 19046. Tickets are $15 in advance or $18 at the door. Running time of the program is one hour and 30 minutes, including one intermission.

Ms. Glasser will also appear as "the Queen", at Ruby's Royal Tea Party, to be held in between the Saturday performances. Dress up to dine with the Queen! Delicious treats, music and fun will abound. Ruby's Royal Tea Party - Saturday, November 23rd, 2:30pm, at the Faulkner Library at Abington Friends School. The $35 admission includes both the Tea Party and a Saturday Ballet performance. The $50 admission includes the Tea Party, a Saturday Ballet Admission and an autographed copy of Tea for Ruby. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
