May 31-June 1

Elina Pirinen: Personal Symphonic Moment (U.S. Premiere)

An "on-stage autopsy" of Dmitri Shostakovich's Symphony No. 7 - written during the siege of Leningrad and hailed as a symbol of resistance against totalitarianism - the work examines the concept of living within the "zeitgeist." The result is a raw and arresting exploration of the inner self, expelled, analyzed and taken to the extreme, as well as of eroticism, shame, danger, and excess. Performances will take place on Tuesday, May 31 and Wednesday, June 1 at 7:30pm at New York Live Arts.

June 3 & 4

Anna Sperber: Prize (World Premiere)

Anna Sperber makes poetic choreographic work with rigorous attention to details. Set to an original score by Ryan Sawyer to be performed live, Prize investigates the delicate line between certainty and uncertainty. Tending to emotion and form in equal measure, it aims to affect our perception of space, time and architecture. Performances will take place on Friday, June 3 at 7pm and Saturday, June 4 at 7pm & 9pm at New York Live Arts.

June 8-11

Vanessa Anspaugh: The End of Men; An Ode to Ocean (World premiere)

In this Joyce debut which features an all-male cast, Brooklyn-based choreographer Vanessa Anspaugh considers the question, "What does a feminist work look like without women?" Delving into religion and ritual, the piece investigates masculine vulnerability and the dynamics of domination and surrender. Performances will take place on Wednesday, June 8 through Saturday, June 11 at 7:30pm at Abrons Arts Center
