The Fountain Theatre and Forever Flamenco!, present "Celebraciónes Flamencas" (Flamenco Celebrations): two weekends of flamenco performances, classes and a documentary screening, today, July 19-27 at the Fountain Theatre.

Friday, July 19 and Saturday, July 27 at 12 p.m. - "Heart Song" flamenco classes
Ever thought of trying a flamenco class? Now's your chance! Inspired by the Fountain's critically acclaimed, recently extended production ofHeart Song, a comedy/drama by Stephen Sachs that celebrates the healing power of flamenco, two "Heart Song" flamenco classes will be offered, led by renowned dancers Mizuho Sato (July 19) and Yaelisa (July 27). Beginners welcome.

Friday, July 19 at 8 p.m. - Kumpanía and live solo concert by José Tanaka
A screening of the award-winning documentary Kumpanía starring Antonio de Jerez, Vanessa Acosta-Abalos, Misuho Sato, Briseyda Zarate, Antonio Triana, Jr., José Tanaka, Gerardo Morales, Manuel Gutierrez, Kai Narezo, Joey Heredia, Timo Nuñez and Paloma Rios, and directed by Katina Dunn, will be followed by a live solo concert by celebrated flamenco guitarist José Tanaka. Kumpanía explores the mysterious pull of flamenco on this group of contemporary musicians and dancers in Los Angeles.

Saturday, July 20 and Sunday, July 21 at 8 p.m - Gerardo Morales y Compañeros
Fresh from a triumphant performance at the Ford Theatres in June, Forever Flamenco! moves back to the intimate Fountain Theatre for two evenings of gypsy flamenco with Gerardo Morales y Compañeros. With only 78 seats in four rows, the Fountain is the perfect place to experience the fire and passion of artistic director Gerardo Morales on cajón; dancers Mizuho Sato, Clara Rodriguez and Briseyda Zarate; singerGuillermo Gonzales (Saturday) and Antonio de Jerez (Sunday); guitarist José Tanaka (Saturday) andGabriel Osuna (Sunday); and pianist Mateo Amper (Sunday only).

Saturday, July 27 at 4 p.m. - Linda Vega Dance Studio student show
A prominent figure in the flamenco world, Linda teaches and conducts workshops throughout the United States. The Linda Vega Dance Studio in Santa Barbara has contributed toward shaping the course of Spanish dance by presenting innovative music, costumes and choreographies, while preserving the traditional spirit of flamenco. Linda Vega was given a Lifetime Achievement Award from the city of Santa Barbara, and received the "Best Dance Studio Reader's Choice" award from the Santa Barbara News Press.

Admission is $40 for Gerardo Morales y Compañeros and the Kumpanía screening/José Tanaka concert; $30 for Heart Song flamenco classes; and $20 for the Linda Vega Dance Studio student show.
