The American Museum of Natural History concludes One Step Beyond's eighth seasonwith Soulection Presents: The Sound of Tomorrow (TSOT) with Joe Kay, Andre Power, SOSUPERSAM, and The Whooligan. The event will take place in the Dorothy and Lewis B. Cullman Hall of the Universe on Friday, June 12.

At these events, an ongoing party series, guests can dance in the Museum's Rose Center for Earth and Space to the sounds of the biggest names in techno, electronica, hip-hop, and indie rock. Guests can also enjoy the Hayden Big Bang Theater, located in the lower part of the Hayden Sphere. The Theater features a dynamic multimedia presentation, narrated by acclaimed actor Liam Neeson, that takes visitors on a thrilling four-minute trip from Earth to the edge of the visible universe. One Step Beyond is presented with Brightest Young Things.

WHO

Soulection
Founded by Joe Kay and Andre Power in 2011, Soulection is a global collective of producers, DJs and forward thinking artists as well as a record label with roots in radio. Based in Los Angeles, Soulection increases visibility for timeless music from around the globe online via Soundcloud and social media with a weekly radio show as well as offline with TSOT branded events worldwide every month.

Joe Kay
Co-founder of Soulection, Joe Kay is the host of Soulection Radio and an active DJ in the worldwide music community especially at home in Los Angeles. As head of Artists and Repertoire for Soulection, Joe oversees all artists and musical output of the label. Joe has been responsible for helping shed light on artists such as Sango, Mr. Carmack, Sam Gellaitry, Esta, GoldLink, IAMNOBODI, and many more.

Andre Power
Andre Power is co-founder and Art Director of Soulection and has a diverse approach to creative endeavors, which translates seamlessly into his musical and visual arts by capturing the essence in each idea and helping to tell a larger story around it through various creative mediums. Incorporating his East Coast upbringing and musical sensibility into his live DJ performances opens up the space for everything from '90s throwbacks to Jersey Club to U.K. house-inspired jams. Over the past three years, Mr. Power has shared the stage with Kendrick, Jhené Aiko, Sango, Snoop Dogg, and others. His love of music has taken him to UCLA Jazz Reggae Festival, The Roxy, XOYO London, Coachella SXSW, and One Music Festival, as well as a monthly residency at Soulection's Sound of Tomorrowevent at The Regent Theater, in Downtown L.A.

SOSUPERSAM
SOSUPERSAM, born Samantha Duenas, is a native of Los Angeles where she has headlined legendary parties like Low End Theory and the Do Over, and sold out the Echoplex. She also DJs weekly at the West Hollywood Soho House, and monthly at 143, the popular slow jams R&B party she co-founded. She supported Childish Gambino's 2012 "Camp" U.S. tour, and has opened for Erykah Badu, Boyz II Men, and Dam-Funk. With Soulection, Sam has continued to tour, most recently completing an Asian circuit that included Seoul's Cake Shop, Le Baron Tokyo, and Black Market Manila.

The Whooligan
Julio Galvez, also known as The Whooligan, manages worldwide bookings for Soulection. A resident of San Francisco, this seasoned DJ, producer, and event curator has worked with numerous events, venues, fashion brands, music outlets, and local businesses across the globe, collaborating with brands like MTV, Def Jam, and PUMA. He has shared the stage with Jazzy Jeff, DJ Craze, J.Rocc, Rick Ross, and more.

American Museum of Natural History. Guests should enter through the Weston Pavilion entrance on Columbus Avenue at 79th Street.

ADMISSION

Admission to One Step Beyond is $25 in advance, $30 on the day of show. Guests must be 21 or older and present valid ID. A beer and wine cash bar is available. Advance purchase is recommended. Tickets may be available at the door.
