In an expansion of its partnership with The Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB), Seeso, the premium comedy streaming channel, today announced that it has renewed its popular Original Series THE UCB SHOW, from hosts, creators, and Upright Citizen's Brigade founders Amy Poehler, Matt Walsh, Ian Roberts and Matt Besser, and will begin shooting season two today at The 18th Annual Del Close Improv Comedy Marathon in NYC.
Additionally, Seeso has acquired the "Thank, You Del: The Story of the Del Close Marathon" documentary, that originally premiered at the 2016 SXSW Film Festival. This is Seeso's second exclusive feature film - after "The Pistol Shrimps" which debuted earlier this month. Both announcements were made by the UCB founding four Amy Poehler, Matt Walsh, Ian Roberts and Matt Besser today at the Annual Del Close Improv Comedy Marathon press conference. "It's so cool that now everywhere in the country you can see the best of what's going on in our theaters!," said Matt Besser, UCB co-founder. Del Close was not a household name, but any comedy enthusiast is aware of his impact. From Bill Murray to Chris Farley to Amy Poehler, many of the most famous comedians consider him their mentor. Fifteen years after Del Close's death, thousands of Improv students, comedy fans, actors, and successful comedians gather to celebrate the most important person in modern comedy that no one knows in "Thank You, Del: The Story of the Del Close Marathon." The film is exclusively available on Seeso platforms beginning today, and also features Louis CK, Nick Kroll, Michael Cera, Sasheer Zamata, Mike Birbiglia, Adam McKay and many more.Videos
