Paul Culliver Controls The Media is a part quiz show, part comedy night, part podcast recording and part current affairs. It is the live-on-stage equivalent Good News Week or The Glasshouse and it has just been confirmed as a monthly event on the first Saturday of each month at The Butterfly Club.

Each month three incisive comedians and one member of the press join Culliver on stage to dissect, reframe and debate the latest in journalism and current affairs in a one-hour live game show. This show is recorded and later shared through the vastly successful podcast by the same name.

The June line-up features comedians Dilruk Jaysinha (It's A Date, Live on Bowen), Demi Lardner (Open Slather, RAW comedy winner), Rose Callaghan (Triple R, Nova) and journalist Mikey Cahill (Herald Sun, Inpress).

Games include:

Lost in Google Translation - news headlines are run through Google Translate a hundred times and guests are asked to guess the news story.

Who Cares Wins - each guest presents a news story to Paul, pitching it as the story that he should most care about that week.

Tweetest Thing - each guest is given a weird or funny story and must craft the perfect 140 character tweet including hashtags.

Whose Headline? - a guest takes on the first person perspective of a celebrity in the news and must explain their story to their teammate, without using any of the words in the headlines.

These games and more will be on offer in Paul Culliver Controls The Media on June 6th at The Butterfly Club. Bookings highly recommended.
