Actor Marcus Nance from Shaw Festival, Actor/Director Hunter Foster and Singer/Songwriter NINA ET CETERA Are Special Guests on This Week (Friday, July 22) on the LIVE Broadcast of State of the ARTS on WPKN-FM (89.5)

This week's (Friday, July 22) guests - actor Marcus Nance from Canada's Shaw Festival, actor/director and Broadway favorite Hunter Foster and singer/songwriter Nina Et Cetera are featured on State of the ARTS which airs LIVE every Friday from 12noon to 1pm on WPKN-FM (89.5) in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Co-hosts of the weekly arts & entertainment program are Richard Pheneger and Peggy Nelson.

Actor Marcus Nance (inset) joins State of the ARTS from the world renowned Shaw Festival in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, where he's currently featured in the newly adapted musical Alice in Wonderland and as Judge Turpin in the re-imagined production of the Stephen Sondheim's musicalSweeney Todd, the Demon Barber of Fleet Street. Both productions are running now through October 16, 2016.

Actor/director Hunter Foster, who was featured in the original Broadway production returns as the director of The Million Dollar Quartet at the Westchester Broadway Theatre in Elmsford, New York playing now through September 21. The Million Dollar Quartet, dramatizes and re-creates the first and only impromptu recording session that brought together Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley resulting in one of the greatest rock 'n' roll jam sessions in musical history.

Nina Et Cetera will sing her interpretations of songs by such artists as Louis Armstrong, Billie Holiday, Nina Simone, Bessie Smith, Ray Charles, Ella Fitzgerald and numerous others in a special evening of jazz and blues at the Stratford Library in Stratford, Connecticut on Friday, July 29 at 7pm

State of the ARTS, featuring arts and entertainment personalities, airs LIVE each Friday from 12noon-1pm on WPKN-FM located at 89.5, streams worldwide online at wpkn.org and is now available via podcasts on WPKN Community Radio.
