ImprovBoston builds its arsenal of adventure shows with Red Alert, a completely improvised space comedy. Following on the heels of 2014's nerdy and wildly successful Magic: The Gathering: The Improv Show and Quest, the latest installment of hilarious, fantasy comedy shows promises to appeal to both those who know the difference between Trek and Wars, and those who don't care.

Red Alert follows the intrepid crew of the USS Starship Caliburn, led by Commander Daniel Booker as they encounter aliens, discover worlds and navigate the inevitable dangers of outer space. On top of showcasing the cast's exceptional improvisation skills from the theater's veteran performers, Red Alert introduces a fun new way to get the audience involved in the performance. At any moment during the show an audience member can push the "Red Alert button", activating an alarm and setting off a disturbance that the ship must band together to conquer. Cast members deftly maneuver both the ship and the show through these audience instigated accidents, overcoming them just in time for the next crisis to occur. With outlandish scenarios and high tech equipment that puts the whole audience onboard the ship, Red Alert issues a laugh-out-loud performance every week.

"With Red Alert, we're taking audience involvement to a new level" says Tom Spataro, managing director of ImprovBoston. "They can literally walk up on the stage, press a button, and change the trajectory of the show."

Red Alert commands the ImprovBoston mainstage Fridays at 10PM from January 2 - 30. Tickets are $18 General Admission/$14 students and available online at improvboston.com.
