NEW YORK, NY(Marketwired - Feb 4, 2015) - Danny Gregory wants to get the whole world drawing. But while on-air and online outlets for cooks and crafters abound, aspiring and experienced artists lack a destination to be entertained, instructed and inspired. Until now.

Today, former top advertising executive, illustrator, and prolific author Danny Gregory along with Dutch co-founder, illustrator Koosje Koene, launch a new digital platform for art education and entertainment with Sketchbook Skool, a video-based art school and global community. The Skool also has an accompanying blog curating "art for all," and an online show, "Q&Art," featuring artists and art experts from around the world.

"The quality of video production in art instruction and entertainment hasn't changed much since TV host Bob Ross's 'Joy of Painting' in the 1980s. And when it comes to accessibility, there is no Martha Stewart or Jamie Oliver of the art world," said Danny Gregory. "We founded Sketchbook Skool to change that: to make drawing as accessible as cooking and crafting, to create an entertaining and stimulating environment and community around illustrated journaling, and to share the inspirational work and lives of our many artist friends."

Dedicated to teaching and inspiring people to tell their stories through illustrated journaling, Sketchbook Skool is taught by the world's best sketchbook artists and educators, who encourage a global community of students to create art every day regardless of skill level.

Sketchbook Skool offers six-week video "kourses" for $99; each week taught by a celebrated artist, illustrator, designer and author. Kourses cover all aspects of illustrated journaling: watercoloring, drawing, creativity, calligraphy, urban sketching, nature drawing, portraits and more. Sketchbook Skool encourages its global community of students of all levels to draw and keep an illustrated journal. Already 8,000 students around the world are drawing with Sketchbook Skool. The new kourse schedule starts in April with six new teachers from Europe and the US. Anyone can sign up for a free sample kourse on the "art for all" blog at http://bit.ly/SampleKlass.

"There is a story to be found in everything," said Koosje Koene. "By making art, you create a record of what you are living through and learning about it. With the guidance of our extraordinary teachers, anyone can turn the everyday into something significant. Your sketches will set a frame around your surroundings and give you perspective on what really matters."

"art for all" Blog

A media-rich destination, "art for all," is a blog celebrating creativity through illustrated journaling. With tips, techniques, interviews, ideas and reviews, "art for all" is a thrice-weekly blast of inspiration from Danny, Koosje, and the exceptional artists, teachers, and illustrators who make up Sketchbook Skool.

"Q&Art"

"Q&Art" is an online interview show hosted by Danny Gregory. Each weekly episode poses a question about art, drawing, illustrated journaling, and the creative life, introducing viewers to experts from around the world including Yorkshire author and illustrator Richard Bell, on "How Do You Make Art with a Physical Limitation," and Trevor Romain, Austin author and President of the American Childhood Cancer Organization on "How Can Your Art Help Others?"

Sketchbook Skool and the accompanying blog and interview show are designed to fit into our busy lives and to inspire everyone to develop a creative habit. "A sketchbook is a sign of a creative person, a tool, a sign of life, a place where you record and develop your ideas. It's a safe place between covers," said Gregory.
