FX Networks has received a basic cable record 18 Emmy(R) Awards, led by 9 Emmy Awards for The People v. O.J. Simpson: AMERICAN CRIME Story. The 6 Emmy Awards received by FX at tonight's Primetime Emmy Awards, along with the 12 Creative Arts Emmy Awards already presented, topping the previous basic cable record of 8 (FX and Comedy Central 2015, FX 2014, AMC 2008) and the awards totals of all broadcast networks, cable networks and streaming services.

"This is a historic night for FX Networks, one we share with an unbelievably talented group of artists who join us in pushing the limits on what television can achieve," said John Landgraf, CEO FX Networks and FX Productions. "We thank the Television Academy and its members for this honor and congratulate all of our winners, as well as the nominees, our producing partners, all of the casts and crews, and everyone at FX and FX Productions. Fourteen years ago, The Shield won cable's first primetime Emmy, setting in motion an era of excellence in scripted cable programming across the industry. FX has built on that legacy by teaming with exceptional creators with UNCOMPROMISING vision and we join them in celebrating the achievements of The People v. O.J. Simpson: AMERICAN CRIME Story, Fargo, American Horror Story: Hotel, The Americans, BASKETS and Archer."
