CBS EVENING NEWS Up +8% Year-to-Year in Viewers

The CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY is up +8% year-to-year in viewers (6.82m from 6.33m) for the week ending April 24, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings.

The CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY added +490,000 viewers and maintained its rating in adults 25-54 (1.3/05) - the demographic most important those who advertise in news - compared to last year. The CBS broadcast also closed the viewership gap with NBC by 700,000 viewers compared to last year.

Season-to-date, the CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY is up +2% in viewers (7.31m from 7.17m) and even in adults 25-54 (1.5/06) compared to last season.

On last week's broadcasts, Chip Reid reported on the Baltimore protests; Holly Williams was in Italy reporting on the refugee crisis unfolding at sea; Don Dahler reported on the BOSTON MARATHON bombing trial; Steve Hartman reported on the surprise ending to a young man's adoption plea; and David Martin, Wyatt Andrews, Ben Tracy, Bill Plante and Mike Morrell covered the U.S. drone strike in Pakistan that killed two HOSTAGES at an al-Qaeda compound and the White House response.
