Violinist Alexander Markov to Play Carnegie Hall, 6/13; Concert Offers $10 Student Tickets

In his most challenging and ambitious program to date, world-renowned violin virtuoso Alexander Markov will make his highly-anticipated return to Carnegie Hall on June 13, 2014 at 8:00pm in the Stern/Perelmen auditorium in From Baroque to Paganini, a concert incarnation of the developing play Paganini by Tony Georges.

Private support has made it possible for world-renowned virtuoso violinist Alexander Markov to further his decades-long mission to see more young audiences attend classical concerts.

Tickets are available to all students, regardless of age, for $10 at the Carnegie Hall Box Office on 57th Street and 7th Avenue. Limit of 2 tickets per student, please. Student tickets are available starting at 11 a.m. today, June 10, 2014.

Presented by the Russian Tea Room and Idle Mind Ltd, Markov will be accompanied by the contemporary string ensemble Shattered Glass, and the winning competitor in the Markov Young Artists Competition, 12 year old virtuoso in the making, Qing Yu Chen, who will make her Carnegie Hall debut in the concert's opening number. Program selections include Bach, Tartini, Mozart, and, of course, Paganini.

Regular tickets are priced from $29-$139 and may be purchased by calling Carnegie Charge at 212 247 7800, in person at the Carnegie Hall box office at 57th and Seventh or at www.carnegiehall.org. Carnegie Hall's Stern/Perelman Auditorium is located at 881 7th Ave, at 57th Street, New York, NY 10019.
