On November 6 at 4:00 pm, Christopher Houlihan performs a recital at the historic Fordham University Church in the Bronx. The performance is free and is in memoriam for Rev. James Boyce, former music faculty.

Located on the Rose Hill Campus at Fordham University (441 East Fordham Road, Bronx, NY 10458), University Church was constructed in the 1840's in the Gothic Revival style and houses a newly built (2013) Schoenstein & Co organ.

There are a number of notable historic features in the church. The bell in the tower, since known as "Old Edgar Allan", is said to have inspired Poe to write his celebrated poem, "The Bells". And, the windows of the nave were presented by Louis Philippe, King of France, in 1846.

Critics have applauded Christopher Houlihan for his "world class chops" and "marvelous ear"; and The Los Angeles Times proclaimed him dazzling and seductive. After Houlihan's Disney Hall debut, in which he performed with principal brass of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the LA Times wrote, "Houlihan is the next big organ talent." Houlihan's "Vierne 2012" tour attracted international attention and critical acclaim for his marathon performances of the six organ symphonies of Louis Vierne in six major North American cities.

Later this year, Houlihan releases an all-Bach CD on the Azica label. Recent concert highlights include debuts at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, presented by the National Symphony Orchestra, and at the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia, presented by the Philadelphia Orchestra.
