The musicians of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra recently revamped its website (metorchestramusicians.org) to include public profiles of musicians, interesting tidbits, solo works, videos and other features. Want to know the average age a MET performer began playing an instrument, what schools they represent, or how many have a Bachelor's Degree? Check out their new, comprehensive website.

Although the orchestra has been struggling financially, the musicians have sought social media as a way to "Save the Met" (savethemetopera.com). The orchestra also has a Twitter account, @METOrchestra, so that the players can expand their fan base and keep them informed on its happenings.

According to the NY Times, The Met said in a statement that it was "proud of its orchestra and is happy with any forum that showcases their talent."
