A few years ago, authors G. Alan Brooks and his grandchildren discussed their desire to create some young heroes that children could admire. They decided to craft a series of children's books with smart, brave and adventurous young people as characters. In "The Adventures of Zumba and Rumba: Book Three - The Quest to Find Their Mother" (published by Xlibris), they reveal the book three of the series where the thrill and adventure continue.

Zumba and Rumba are two young siblings (ages 12 and 11) separated from their parents by raiding warriors. They must survive alone in the dangerous jungles of Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya and Somalia. While using their bravery and intelligence, they encounter many adventurous situations that include fierce warriors, wild animals, weather, snakes, sickness, greedy villagers, helpful people and beautiful but treacherous scenery. Can they survive this difficult ordeal and find their parents?

"Africa is one of the 'cradles of the humankind,' and it is in the news often these days. We think learning about African cultures, geography, history, and scenery will be a relevant educational experience," the authors say. "The book also shows that young people can survive and thrive, even in very difficult situations."

A fun and exciting read, "The Adventures of Zumba and Rumba: Book Three - The Quest to Find Their Mother" has a universal appeal to readers from 8 to 12 years old, showcasing action-packed adventure stories in a place filled with suspense and challenging issues.

About the Author
G. Alan Brooks and his grandchildren have worked together for years to create a series of stories about Zumba and Rumba: two smart and brave African children. He is the grandfather of four children. Two live in New York City, and two live in Miami. He lives in Miami with his wife.

Ruby A. Brooks is very creative and her vast imagination fueled many of these stories. Once a general idea for a chapter was developed, she quickly created many alternative situations and adventures. It was such fun to watch both new and old characters develop more fully in these last two books.

The authors hope these books provide inspiration and opportunity for families to have a special time together, reading and sharing stories.
