Zondervan Wins Five ECPA Christian Book Awards

NASHVILLE, Tenn., May 6, 2015 /PRNewswire/ At the ECPA Awards Banquet on May 5 th in Murfreesboro, TN, Zondervan received a total of five 2015 ECPA Christian Book Awards . Recognized with more awards than any other publisher, Zondervan also took the 2015 Christian Book of the Year award for "The Daniel Plan" by bestselling authors Rick Warren D. Min., Daniel Amen M.D., and Mark Hyman M.D.

Zondervan's four additional awards were:

  • "NIV First-Century Study Bible" with notes by Kent Dobson; Bibles category
  • "Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus: A Devout Muslim Encounters Christianity" by Nabeel Qureshi; Non-fiction and New Author category
  • "1, 2 and 3 John: Zondervan Exegetical Commentary on the New Testament" by Karen H. Jobes; Bible Reference category

According to the ECPA's press release the awards "represent the best books in our industry, but in their variety they represent the transforming power of Christian content that impacts all of life."

In addition to the Christian Book Awards, the ECPA also recognized HarperCollins Christian Publishing for distinguished sales milestones with the Diamond, Gold and Platinum Sales Awards. Both Thomas Nelson and Zondervan titles were recognized for these sales accomplishments in the following categories:

  • Diamond Awards (Over 10 million sold) - "Jesus Calling" by Sarah Young (Thomas Nelson); "Heaven is for Real" by Todd Burpo (Thomas Nelson)
  • Platinum Awards (Over 1 million sold) "The Story, NIV" (Zondervan)
  • Gold Awards (Over 500,000 sold) "Jesus Calling: 365 Devotions for Kids" by Sarah Young (Thomas Nelson); "Jesus Lives" by Sarah Young (Thomas Nelson); "Love Does" by Bob Goff (Thomas Nelson); "Jesus Today" bySarah Young (Thomas Nelson)
