NEW YORK - Barnett Zumoff invites readers to experience the brilliance of Yiddish literature with the release of his new book titled "Yiddish Literature In America 1870-2000: Volume 3" (published by Xlibris). This volume, the third in a trilogy, is the English translation of the work of distinguished historian Professor Emanuel S. Goldsmith.

Between 1870 and 2000, Yiddish literature virtually exploded from a tiny, poorly developed literature into a large and magnificent literary corpus. Interestingly, the majority of this Yiddish literature was written by authors living in America, though they had been born in Europe. Out of this literary boom, Goldsmith selected and published, in Yiddish, a magnificent 2-volume anthology. Zumoff and his collaborators subsequently translated and published the entirety of that work in a 3-volume format. The books feature works by well-known Yiddish authors including Sholem Aleichem, Moris Rozenfeld, Yehoyesh, Ana Margolin, Tsilye Drapkin, H. Leyvik and Rokhl Korn.

"Yiddish Literature In America 1870-2000" has received acclaim from various Yiddish scholars and leaders.

"An important contribution to the field, bringing unknown treasures of Yiddish literature and thought to new readers, and for that we all owe the Editor and Translator a debt of gratitude." -Aaron Lansky, president, National Yiddish Book Center, Amherst, Massachusetts

"An indispensable compendium, filled with treasures reflecting brilliant encounters between Old World and New." - Jeremy Dauber, Professor, Columbia University, Yiddish Studies Department
