An emotional journey through revenge, atonement, redemption and, finally, respect awaits readers in the pages of "Who's Going to Say Kaddish for the Chinaman's Dog?" (published by Xlibris). Author Jon Hykes' new book is a love story following sufferers of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) as they live on, struggling to bloom past the trauma they have experienced. They all, at first strangers, discover the meaning of life love and each other.

Hykes' novel follows ordinary people dealing with ordinary things: sex, violence, sexual violence, war, separation, dismemberment, death, and PTSD. It explores the difference between faith and religion, and the relationship with one's own deity. Hykes shows how people discover fundamental truths and each other in a unique, humorous, and unforgettable way, which can best be described as an emotional roller coaster. Through the suffering of the past and the challenges of the present, the narrative conveys a sense of interconnectedness with one's fellow people and the world, the basic Native American philosophy, according to the author.

His book is not for the faint of heart or soul, as the issues are dealt with in a graphic manner says the author. He examines the purpose and meaning of life as seen through the lens of PTSD.
