Terry and Wendy Dartnall were married for 25 years, believing they were destined to be together and certain they found their soulmate in each other.

A bout with cancer interrupted their time together, taking Terry's life in the process, but their story does not end there. Dartnall openly writes about her great love story in "A Wind from the East".

In "A Wind from the East," Dartnall narrates her time with her husband Terry, candidly sharing the couple's journey from love at first sight to Terry's life-ending battle with cancer. Throughout the book, she discloses the letters and poetry she wrote to her dying husband when cancer robbed him of his ability to communicate. Even after Terry passes, Dartnall's story continues as she pens more letters to her husband, allowing her to feel his presence once again.

"Honestly, Terry was the poet in our family," Dartnall said. "He was the one who had a way with words, which was one of the reasons why it was so hard for me when cancer took his ability to speak. But during long hours beside his bed, I found relief in writing my own poetry and it became my way of talking with Terry and dealing with my grief at the same time."

Dartnall gives an honest account of the most important relationship of her life, sharing the joy of loving Terry, the pain of losing him, and the self-enlightenment she found in writing to her husband. Through her writings she discovered a life lesson that she passes on in "A Wind from the East," death is not the end of the story.
