The U.S. Supreme Court's recent decisions on voting rights and Proposition 8 have sparked conversations and debates throughout the country. Warren Lee Grant's new book, "A Constitutional Crisis: The Role of the Federal Judiciary in the Transformation and Secularization of America" (published by WestBow Press), focuses on the root of what Grant decries are the problems with U.S. Supreme Court and how to solve them.

"We face a constitutional crisis which threatens the survival of the republic as established and ordered and which puts in jeopardy the whole range of rights and liberties of the people," says Grant.

Warren's book covers the evolution of the Supreme Court since its inception. He provides examples of how the Supreme Court has taken state sovereignty away from the people and how the people can get it back.

A passage by Thomas Jefferson featured in "A Constitutional Crisis:

"The germ of dissolution of our Federal government is in the constitution of the federal judiciary; an irresponsible body working like gravity by night and by day, gaining a little today and a little tomorrow, and advancing its noiseless step like a thief, over the field of jurisdiction, until all shall be usurped from the states, and the judges as the ultimate arbiters of all constitutional questions is a very dangerous doctrine indeed."
