From the field, the broadcast booth and the locker room, former sportscaster Walt Brown brought the stars of the '60s and '70s into the homes of millions of people. In his new book, "A Fly on the Wall," by Walt Brown (published by AuthorHouse), he reflects on a lifetime of spending time with many of the greatest celebrities during reported and unreported events of the last 50 years.

"A Fly on the Wall" is an account of sports and cultural history of little known, but true, biographical incidents and anecdotes from famous lives. This is a history that began 50 years ago which, in many ways, is being repeated in the world today, but with added bits in the book from famous lives of that day.

Readers will sit next to Muhammad Ali, Bill Cosby, Jesse Owens, Stan Musial, Willie Mays, Billie Jean King, Dan Marino, Greg Louganis, Cynthia Potter, Pele and more as well as NBA stars of the '60s and '70s, movie stars and politicians. Readers also are given a behind-the-scenes look at the 1960 Democratic Convention, all from "the Fly's" perspective.

Brown bears witness to some of the biggest changes of the last half of the 20th century. He recalls the tumultuous days of the civil rights movement as well as the emergence of feminism in the '70s, approaching both topics with those personally involved.

Brown recalls, "During black power and Title IX conflicts, athletes of color actually asked me, a young white sportscaster, for advice. The book not only relates individual events with major 'names' - events others did not share - but it speaks of the changing times of the '60s and '70s when the Vietnam War and movements for gender and racial equality were spilling over into the world of sports."
