The War Against Women Administrators Continues in New Book

LITTLE ROCK, Ark.

Stories of discrimination can be found in the news daily, whether it is discrimination based on race, religion or sexuality. However, gender discrimination is a topic that makes the headlines less frequently. Dr. Roselinda Johnson, Ed.D. discusses the inequality and discrimination that women still face in the United States and Equal Employment Opportunity Commision (EEOC) documentation in her new book.

"War on Women Administrators EEOC Documentation" is dedicated to all the potential female administrators from superintendent to President of the United States.

Experiencing her own injustices for 20 years to the discrimination that still exists for women in the United States, Dr. Johnson turned her attention to writing a book that would help other females fight discrimination when applying for positions in upper administration.

"After graduation, when I tried to find a job as a superintendent with a Doctorate in Educational Administration in the state of Arkansas, I had enormous difficulties being hired or even interviewed. However, I was hired in several starting entry jobs as special education teacher, counselor, and gifted and talented teacher," Dr. Johnson said. "I discovered that Arkansas superintendents were usually high school principals who were males in the district. After discovering how the educational system worked, I decided to use my degree and knowledge to change the hiring policies by eliminating pre-employment application questions on sex, age and disability."

The only reason Johnson was provided for not being hired as a superintendent was the fact she had never been one previously. Enter "War on Women Administrators EEOC Documentation."

Dr. Johnson's book discusses how all women are not equal under the U.S. Constitution until 3 more states vote to ratify the 28th Amendment (Equal Rights Amendment) which has no deadline (WEA). Additionally, she shows examples of different letters that allow other women to walk through the documentation process. On page 8 of the book are the names of the 15 not-yet-ratified states.

Dr. Roselinda Johnson, Ed.D. earned a Doctorate in Educational Administration from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville (1992), worked 20 years in education and was president and CEO of her counseling business for 15 years. This book is written after many years of trying to become a female administrator in education without success. Dr. Johnson lives by two words "Quand Meme," literally meaning "In Spite of Everything."
