The Pritzker Military Museum & Library will host its Liberty Gala http://www.pritzkermilitary.org/events/liberty-gala/2015-liberty-gala/ Nov. 7 at the Hilton Chicago, a special evening that celebrates and supports the work of the Museum & Library and honors the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces, past and present.

Among the highlights of the evening is the presentation of awards, including a $100,000 Literature Award for Lifetime Achievement in Military Writing http://www.pritzkermilitary.org/explore/pritzker-literature-award/ to historian David Hackett Fischer, author of the Pulitzer Prize-winning book, Washington's Crossing; a distinguished service medal to JROTC Cadet Miranda Cardona, of Chicago Public School's Prosser Career Academy; and Founder's Awards to distinguished authors Edward M.
