Sometimes misinformation can be more dangerous than the potential threat itself.

In light of the ongoing conflict between Western and Middle Eastern ideologies, recognized threat analyst Joseph Butta places Islamic culture and the Qur'an into historical context in his new book, "The Dawn of Islamic Literalism."

Owning more than 70 books on the subject and delivering speeches on the subject across US and Europe, Butta introduces readers to Western analytic thought and explains to Christians, Jews and secular Westerners what Islamists believe and why they believe it.

"Muslims or well intentioned non-Muslims in the West have no problem telling the masses what Islam is without reading all of the Qur'an and the Islamic authoritative sources," Butta says. "I wanted to learn this for myself and share with those who are also concerned."

Combining the Qur'an with the Traditions of Muhammad to create an epic account of the Islamic story, "The Dawn of Islamic Literalism" provides an understanding of the Islamic ideology and its implications for the Western world.

Butta gives readers a better understanding of the history of Islamic culture, providing them with the tools to reach thoughtful conclusions about this ideology.

"The literal application of the Islamic texts creates a threat for western civilization," Butta says. "Westerners need to understand the Literalist mentality in order to properly defend western secular, religious institutions and preserve western freedoms."
