ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich.

Jack Bishop is obsessed with finding more to life, but in T.J. Shannon's new book, "The Darkness Behind Me" (published by AuthorHouse), Jack's adventures only lead to letdowns.

Shannon's inspiration for the book comes from his own relationships along with his desire to show how moral values are needed to provide substance and structure to life.

Jack is all-consumedly self-indulgent, which leads him into the arms of another woman and the suspect of his boss's murder. In fear for his life, Jack risks everything to expose the crimes of the corporate elite. He finds himself cast aside by his mistress and the target of a killer, tangled in a web of deceit and misdirection.

"The Darkness Behind Me" is an adventure full of secrets and challenges leaving Jack in situations that destroy his career and push the love of his life away. Alone and broken, Jack discovers the past cannot be erased.

"The book is based on the notion that you can make your life better by taking risks," said Shannon. "But risk means a loss of control which, in this case, leads to heartache and murder."
