NORWOOD, Ohio

Growing up in a small town, Brandon Blair found that it was easy to get bored. As a way to pass the time, he and his friends would go ghost hunting and visit local haunted places. "Three Terrifying Tales" (published by Xlibris) is a tale inspired by those experiences.

What would it be like to find oneself confronted by the paranormal? Blair tells three short horrors with this in mind, paying particular attention to his characters and characterization as he works to depict how people would react to the supernatural and their rising fears. Blair's particular attention to characterization lends a degree of realism to his tales, hoping that readers can relate to them and be able to experience the tales from their perspectives.

The three stories are as follows: A demon threatens the town of Corpus Mors in "The Dark One: The Beginning;" the next story presents a mystery meant to keep readers guessing as four friends discover that the fire at the eponymous "Gore Orphanage" may be a lot more sinister than the accident that people have been led to believe; and, lastly, "Blood Harvest" brings a dark, heartbreaking tale.

"No matter how awful/terrible/terrifying something is, some things we just don't have any control over," says Blair. "We don't have to accept it and can try to beat it." Much like the characters in his stories, he would like readers to keep standing and fight on, even when faced with the impossible.
