Life's adventures don't have to end after retirement.

After spending 40 years in the hospitality industry, author Grandma Nor retired from the workforce and began writing as means of entertainment and fulfillment. As a result of her newfound love of writing, she developed a deep wish to open children's minds to imagination and fantasy.

Channeling stories her own grandmother told her while growing up in Norway, Grandma Nor takes what she remembers and embellishes upon it.

"I grew up in a rural village with not many neighbors," Grandma Nor said. "So, we had to make up our own games and stories to keep us occupied."

In The Magic Stones, Grandma Nor tells the story of two children's discovery of a cave filled with fairies, dragons and magic diamond stones. After bringing the magic stones home to their families, the children soon find that the stones have the power to improve their lives.

A tale of bravery and teamwork, The Magic Stones also emphasizes the importance of young readers to be respectful and honest throughout their lives.

"It's important that we respect all living things and share what we have with each other," Grandma Nor said.
