A Marcellus, NY author's book, THE BEST LAID PLANS, was named a Runner-Up in the 2013 MARSocial Author of the Year Competition yesterday.

Author James McAllister's first novel, the Sci-Fi epic "THE BEST LAID PLANS Birth of the Starclan," was selected as a Runner-Up in the largest author of the year competition ever held on the world wide web. Known as "The Author's X-Factor," the competition had over 160 authors participating.

James' work was selected as a Finalist in early January before earning the title of Runner-Up at the conclusion of the competition. The Winner, Karynne Summars work, "DESPERATE PURSUIT IN VENICE," may be made into a feature film by Keeran Vaani Creations.

"I'm very pleased that my first novel made it this far," James commented. "It lets me know I'm on the right track with my writing. My next book, 'THE PAGE Year f the Dragons,' will be released February 4th."

James McAllister is Respiratory Therapist working in healthcare accreditation. He was born and raised in Syracuse, NY. He is also the founder and CEO of Fortiter Publishing LLC, through which his books are released.
