Published author and crime and violence prevention specialist/consultant Stephanie L. Mann releases a self-help book titled "Street-Safe Kids" (published by Xlibris), a 10-step guide offered for adults to know how to keep kids safe. This latest publication aims to bring to the forefront of readers' attention how to empower youth to avoid bullies and self-destructive behaviors and imparts lessons to make good choices to stay safe and healthy.

Parents cannot protect their children at school, on the streets, at the mall or online at all times, but with guidance, children can learn to protect themselves by discovering their inner power to stay safe. A self-aware child develops their identity and will not become a victim or a bully, the author explains. "Street-Safe Kids" presents a variety of situations to help adults share their own stories and give children the emotional tools to educate them for their future. This book features 138 stories, illustrations and graphics that aid in understanding why the 10 steps highlighted are important and how they can strengthen children.

According to Mann, "The goal of the book is to improve family communication, build trust and provide a nurturing environment. Adults can empower children so they learn how to discover their inner strength. Children also need to listen to their instincts, intuition and their conscience to stay safe."

"Street-Safe Kids" can empower one child or a group of children to stay centered and safe:
Centered people are less likely to be victims because they have the self-esteem and self-awareness to demonstrate respect for themselves and others. They draw on their inner core of strength and their self-protective conscience to guide their choices in life.
