Some people live tortured lives in their youth, and this leads them to succumb to insanity. Author S.C. Rackes explores such possibility in her thrilling new novel, Cast a Dark Shadow. Fast-paced and filled with intricate twists and turns, this story will deliver the readers into one breathtaking conclusion they will never forget.

Dallas Welles finally had enough. She is throwing away twenty years of marriage into the wind. Trapped in a horrifying lifestyle, she just cannot stand living with a man who became a stranger to her eyes, a man who frightened her with his dark, menacing stance. As expected, Bart Welles is not pleased when his wife left him. He is stalking her everywhere, following and observing her every move like a hungry wolf who is bidding his sweet time to pounce. Dallas finds it creepy. Bart will stop at nothing to get his wife back, the woman he believes to be a belonging that he rescued from a lifetime of distress.

In the midst of it all, there is Victor DeAngelo, a man in a wheelchair who appeared out of nowhere and assumed the role of a knight in a white horse. He is ready to protect Dallas from Bart, and he will gladly do it no matter how much it would cost him. If it is already complicated enough for her, then it becomes even more so when Jesse Kelly enters her life. A dependable, gentleman who guards the law diligently, Jesse is dazzled by Dallas. After all these years and all that he has been through, it seems that he is lucky enough to find a woman who can make him believe in love again.

Set near the cost of Florida, this murder mystery will take readers in a game of cat and mouse as the main characters lure the suspect out in the open and close in before he manages to increase the number of his victims. A book that explores madness, murder, sex, money and mafia, Cast a Dark Shadow has a healthy dose of suspense and mystery. It also has a dash of romance that will definitely touch the readers' hearts.
