This Easter season, author Jack Minter provides a unique and thought-provoking twist on the timeless Easter story in his new book, Saul of Tarsus: The First Terrorist (Brown Books Publishing Group). Mixing biblical events with creative fiction, Minter details the story of Saul's radical transformation into Paul and how he ultimately aided the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

As people from all faiths gather to celebrate Easter, Minter urges readers to think about the Easter story from a deeper spiritual aspect, instead of focusing solely on the physical suffering Jesus endured. Minter also explains in his book some possibilities surrounding Jesus' death and resurrection that are thought-provoking.

"Many of us have heard the biblical account of Easter and Jesus' death on the cross," said Minter. "I pondered in the book how Saul could have possibly had a role in the death of Jesus through Judas. Saul spent almost his entire life clearly hating Jesus. I explain a scenario in Saul of Tarsus that puts more emphasis on a greater conspiracy between Saul and Judas. It's completely possible that these two could have assisted one another to take Jesus' life and thus end Christianity."

In Saul of Tarsus, Minter paints the picture of a life of terrorism against Jesus and His followers that demonstrates many biblical facts as well as possibilities to think about the transformation of the world's first terrorist into one of the greatest Christians.

"This Easter, think about the sacrifice of Jesus for mankind but also consider other possibilities as to how the Savior of the world could have been murdered then rose again," said Minter. "We know that Jesus' death and resurrection, regardless of any and all circumstances, only triggered the greater spread of Christianity around the world. More than 2,000 years later, Jesus is still being talked about around the world and the Bible remains the best-selling book of all time."
