As a child, R.E.Metzel spent her time after school building forts, crafting weapons and fighting trees in the forest with her brothers. Their adventures provided guidelines for her writing, eventually transforming itself into the fantasy novel "Cathedral: Into the light" (published by AuthorHouse), a story of faith and redemption in the midst of darkness.

"Anyone who loves swords, creatures and overly complicated names will find something to appreciate in 'Cathedral,'" Metzel writes. "There's magic, monsters, battles and long descriptive passages; everything a fantasy enthusiast loves."

In the fictional land of Narshadar, characters Tavius and Luzalo lead distinctly opposite lives. Tavius, a young hunter with an unknown past, is raised by a good family in a secure environment. When the advances of a dangerous enemy threaten his nation, Tavius feels trapped between the uncertainties of his origin and the expectations of his future, realizing his destiny is to become a warrior - the only hope for his nation on the brink of war.

Luzalo's life, however, is far from secure. Born into darkness and tragedy, she survives only as a mercenary for the enemy, hating everything and desperate for her freedom. She is forced to reconcile with her crimes and accept the redemption of an unknown savior.

When their paths collide, an adventure unfolds, shedding light on the power of God's love for those who earnestly seek him.

"It seems everyone spends their life searching for identity," Metzel explains. "Discovering 'your purpose' is a big issue. This book sympathizes with that struggle and declares who can help you find meaning in a meaningless world. I hope readers comprehend this message and grow in their own understanding."
