In “Cold Snap” (published by Xlibris) author R.A Mello creates yet another enthralling addition to the Silverlight Series of books. This book is the continuation of the author's first book “Cold Bill” and chronicles the troubled relationship of Bill Colden and his one true love, Abigail Josephine Lux.

The book follows Bill Colden who heads home to reunite with his sweetheart Abigail and resume the life he thought he had lost. But all is not well as Bill is soon followed by a motley crew of individual who hope to discover the secret behind the bloodlust that has left a string of bodies in their wake. To make matters worse, a merciless psychopath with ties to Bill's past emerges, with the sole purpose of sowing chaos in his life.

An excerpt from the book:
The burning begins in the hands-that dreadful sensation all wendigo feel right before the fever takes its hold. For a brief moment, Bill flirts with the idea of a transformation, a treacherous ruse exacted by Glooskap. It was too good to be true. The fever was upon him again, and at any moment! He would revert into that thing, Cold Bill. His skin peels away, burning outward along both palms. He pulls them out of his pockets, and in sharp frantic movements, he begins shaking them to extinguish the fire. Ash drifts upward in the gentle breeze as both hands arc ablaze and disintegrate.

The story borrows concepts from the Canadian legend of the Wendigo, and shows how revenge and madness can destroy a person's life and lead him on a path of self-destruction and chaos.
