The new book "Suzanne Collier's Little Book of Mysteries and Mayhem" (published by iUniverse) introduces a bright and quirky young detective who drives adults crazy with her incessant question asking. Author Paula Diggs hopes to give a voice to children whose mannerisms might annoy adults but who actually have a great deal to offer.

"The heroine is unusual and annoyingly charming," Diggs says. "Children - and adults - whose mannerisms turn us off can make great contributions if we give them a chance."

Suzanne Collier is a 7-year-old amateur detective with less-than-great social skills. As she attempts to solve the case of a dead hobo in Illinois, followed quickly by a highway crime in Michigan and then the revelation of evil motives amid a dinosaur dig in Kansas, she stumbles across her biggest mystery yet: the case of why people do the things they do.

In this young adult novel, Suzanne deals with adult-sized mysteries as she faces moving to Minnesota with her family - the place where Suzanne is certain witches, vampires and frozen souls reside.
