According to the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, "by 2050 oceans could have more plastics than fish by weight." This finding illustrates the impact that pollution has on the world's oceans and what happens when garbage is not properly thrown away.

Paul Green, a charter captain for more than 20 years, has personally witnessed the complications associated with ocean pollution. He addresses this topic in his book, "Storm in a Teacup," that details his numerous journeys at sea.

Green has traveled extensively throughout the Pacific Ocean, taking tourists to various remote islands, which has given him a unique perspective on this matter. He said that even on the most distant islands, the sheer amount of pollution is stunning. Green now works for Dolphin Planet & Dreamweaver Charters, a company that leads dolphin-watching trips.

"Ocean pollution is an enormous issue that needs to be addressed," Green said. "Throughout my different voyages, I have seen this problem with my own eyes."

By sharing his trips at sea, he aims to open readers' eyes to the wonders of nature and draw attention to a significant environmental threat.

"As a charter captain, I have spent the majority of my life at sea and I know how precious of a resource water is," Green said. "We must continue to work to preserve the beauty of the world's oceans for future generations."
