According to The Hollywood Reporter, Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman will head to the small screen to star in their biggest television roles to date. The A-listers will lead a David E. Kelley-penned limited TV series based on Liane Moriarty's book BIG LITTLE LIES. No network is currently attached to the project.

Through their production companies, Kidman and Witherspoon optioned the rights to the No. 1 New York Times with the intention of adapting it into a feature film. The story follows "three mothers to kindergartners whose seemingly perfect lives unravel to a murder-mystery that takes place during a disastrous parents' night at an elementary school fundraiser."

Kidman and Witherspoon will executive produce alongside Kelley, and novelist Moriarty, whose other books include What Alice Forgot, Three Wishes, The Hypnotist's Love Story and The Husband's Secret, will serve as a producer.
