Local award-winning and New York Times Bestselling mystery author J.A. Jance visits Wesley Homes Retirement Communities and Home Health Services in Des Moines, WA, on Wednesday, September 9 at 7:00 p.m. for a discussion and book signing of her latest novel, Dance of the Bones.

Jance's fans have followed over 20 adventures of flawed Seattle homicide detective J.P. "Beau" Beaumont since 1985. More recently, she developed a new series, featuring Arizona sheriff Brandon Walker, a retired lawman who dabbles in solving cold cases for an organization of legal experts known as The Last Chance.

Now, Jance brings these two popular, retired protagonists together in Dance of the Bones, a suspense novel that showcases her plotting, characterization and sense of place talents that have been refined over the course of her distinguished mystery writing career.

"I love these characters," said Jance, "even though they're all products of my imagination or maybe because of that, and it was wonderful to have a chance to encounter them again and see what they've been up to during the years they've been out of my sight."

Dance of the Bones is the fifth book in the Walker series and the twenty-fourth in the Beaumont series. It is on sale September 8.

J.A. Jance is an award-winning mystery author with more than 20 million books in print. Jance's writing career spans three decades and includes over 50 books in four different series as well as a volume of poetry. Born in South Dakota and raised in Bisbee, AZ, she and her husband, Bill, split their time between homes in Arizona and Washington State.
