Pastor Jose A. Ramirez discusses what it means to be a father and leader of a household in his new book, "Lo Que Mis Hijos Esperan Ver En Mi: El Concepto Que Los Hijos Tienen De Sus Padres" (published by WestBow Press), which translates to "What My Children Expect to See in Me: Let Children Have Their Parents."

Ramirez's book focuses mainly on the role of the father in the household and how fathers can better lead their families. Using his own parents as examples, Ramirez examines the pivotal roles men play as husbands, providers, leaders and fathers.

The book further emphasizes the need for strong fathers in their children's lives, especially their sons' lives. Ramirez approaches fatherhood from a biblical standpoint and shows how fathers also provide spiritual guidance. Through his book, he hopes fathers will better understand the vital role they serve in their households.

"I want readers to understand the concept that their families need a man that can supply all the needs of the family," Ramirez says, "beginning with a good example."

An excerpt from "Lo Que Mis Hijos Esperan Ver En Mi":

"Todo lo valioso en este mundo tiene un precio. Un hogar feliz no es para cobardes, hay que luchar por él. La grandeza de unhombre no radica en haber conquistado el mundo, si no en haber sabido defender su casa. Quien ha llenado los bancos del mundo, pero ha dejado vaciar su casa, sigue siendo un pobre miserable."
