BERGEN COUNTY, N.J. -

Suddenly everything is an argument between high school English teacher Abigail and her husband Joe. Their once vibrant, loving relationship is disintegrating after 25 years of marriage and four children, and, this new novel by Dog Ear Publishing details Abby's agonizing decision to save her marriage or to end it. A trip to Los Angeles and time away from Joe is just what she needs to re-evaluate her marriage until she is interviewed as a potential witness, and sparks fly between her and the handsome Detective Larsen.

A rapist on the loose provides a dramatic background for their passionate encounters, but Kristoffer, a longtime member of the Special Assault Section of the LAPD, comes with a past of his own that may get in the way: the unsolved murder of his fiancée, his imprisoned police officer father and a partner's death.

Abby attempts to make her marriage with Joe work but returns to LA, drawn back by her feelings for Kristoffer. His personal problems, however, soon become hers and cause a strain on their relationship, as does the serial rapist case. As police draw closer to learning who committed the violent crimes, Abby will be forced to make a decision.

"The Promise of Sunsets" tells the story of Abby and Joe; love and marriage; holding on and letting go; and the beautiful beginnings only extraordinary endings can bring.
