Author John D. Wilson's new memoir, "In Other Worlds" (published by WestBow Press), is an eloquent and compelling human interest story about his life spent in many beautiful but challenging places, as well as his inner Christian journey.

Wilson highlights how - despite early struggles with self-esteem - he left his homeland of Scotland to spend 20 years among the "primitive" Yali tribal people of Papua, Indonesia. It was there that he and his wife raised a family and learned the unwritten Yali language, then helped to plant a church, train church leaders, teach literacy and translate Scripture. During this time he overcame various adversities, including facing cancer twice.

"So many missionary memoirs leave you feeling the author is a saint you can never expect to imitate," Wilson says. "As a missionary memoir, 'In Other Worlds' will strike readers with its honesty and vulnerability."

Praise for "In Other Worlds":

"['In Other Worlds' is] compelling, well-written, vastly entertaining, and inspiring ... a fascinating look into worlds I would never have the chance to experience otherwise."
-Anne M. Crawford, author and editor
