New Book 'Have You Seen My Teacher?' is Announced
One of the most significant events in the life of a child is the first day of school. It is the first time the child will be separated from his or her parents. It is also a scary time for the child because of the anticipation and there is also the fact that the child has yet to make any friends at school and is thus relatively shy. One thing is certain though, the first day of school is a truly significant event in the life of a child. In "Have You seen My Teacher?" author Jean Wifort Bernard-Hicks has captured the excitement and anticipation of this event.
This book is an inter-generational story about the first day of school. It shows readers how significant this event is in the life of a child. It also shows kids how to handle the anticipation of meeting new people and being away from their parents. This well-crafted picture book shows first time students how to properly act in the classroom, to be friendly with classmates and to be respectful to the teacher. The author used her grandchild's first day at kindergarten as an inspiration for the images and the storylines found in this worthy picture book.
A perfect way to teach first-time students how to act and behave in the classroom, "Have You Seen My Teacher?", also helps alleviate the anxiety kids feel on the first day of school.
