Naveen Sridhar Releases CANDLELIGHT IN A STORM

While Germany has opened its borders to Syrian refugees, the one question that remains to be fully answered is how will they be welcomed into society.

This is exactly what Naveen Sridhar addresses in his book, "Candlelight in a Storm." He examines this topic from the perspective of his wife, Renate Sridhar, who fled to West Berlin following World War II to escape communist rule.

Naveen Sridhar wants to remind Germans that not long ago, the country faced a similar position of individuals escaping a politically divided country with the hope of creating a better life. He has lived in Germany for nearly six decades and has met many individuals whose lives were changed as a result of the aftermath of World War II.

"The true character of Germans is now being displayed with a large majority accepting a huge influx of refugees from distant places," Naveen Sridhar said.

By sharing his wife's story, Naveen Sridhar aims to draw attention to the current refugee situation in Germany and how the country should treat them.

"We cannot expect that society will change," Naveen Sridhar said. "We must become more accepting to make the world a better place."
