Stress, anxiety and dread are things people deal with when election season rolls around. In "Natural Born Leader," by Los Angeles-based author Robert L. Schmidt, not only are these things addressed, they're also met with humor, satire and comic relief.

'Leader' follows the family of Senator Bill "Tex" Flowers, a powerhouse Republican from Texas with a picture-perfect life and a presidential shoo-in. However, trouble quickly rears its head. Senator Flowers' life crumbles right before his eyes when he finds out his latest fling is a blackmailer, threating to destroy his marriage and his presidential hopes.

From there, readers are introduced to Ronald Tripp (The Ronald), another Republican nominee and the man behind the blackmail. Soon after, Flowers' candidacy is suspended and his father, retired senator George Flowers Sr., replaces with his brother, George Jr. Chaos ensues shortly thereafter.

Inspired by recent political events, Schmidt felt people needed comic relief. "We're stuck with what we've got for at least four years," said Schmidt. "So, we may as well at least get a good laugh about it."

"There are examples over our country's history where presidents of questionable intelligence and have won the election and served one, or even two, terms," he said. "I decided to take this concept to a nearly absurd level with the introduction of candidate George Flowers, Jr. Also, much of the book is in reaction to what I felt were marginally insane ideas originating from the lips of our new president."

"This is the perfect read for post-election relief," a reviewer wrote in a five-star review of "Natural Born Leader." "It's a hilarious insight into the political system as a whole and it is not to be missed."

A humorous satire incorporated with recent events, "Natural Born Leader" will provide post-election comic relief for all who need it.
