HAMILTON, Mont.

Author Annette O'Leary-Coggins grew up in Wexford, Ireland, where she grew up hearing countless Irish folk tales. A firm believer that there aren't enough lighthearted children's books being written anymore, O'Leary-Coggins decided it was time to put her love for Irish folklore into a story of her own.

O'Leary-Coggins invites old and young readers alike to enjoy her new novel "Nanny Reilly: Book 1" (published by iUniverse), which follows Nanny Reilly on a whimsical adventure through Ireland.

Nanny Reilly and her dog, Henry Daly, have been enjoying a walk through the Irish countryside. This is quickly ruined when King Brian the leprechaun tricks the two into kidnapping his niece, Princess Tara.

What began as an uneventful walk around their favorite fishing spot, will turn into a perilous journey that will see the unusual group battling a Banshee in the Banshee's Cradle. Inside the Banshee's efficiently operated hotel like underworld, many enter but few ever leave.

O'Leary-Coggins hopes "Nanny Reilly" will not only entertain readers but also get them interested in her following novels, the second of which is titled "The Rescueteers' Christmas Mission."
