Author Martin Zen wants to show people the world's beauty by encouraging them to take small actions daily to influence large-scale social change. He hopes to achieve this with his new literary fiction "Project Love: How Quincy Changed the World" (published by Balboa Press).

Zen's new story introduces 15-year-old protagonist Quincy, who starts a one-month-long project called "Inspired by Love - One Month." Quincy's goal is to change the world, one step at a time, through acts of generosity, nonviolent communication and understanding. Ultimately, his month-long project to spread kindness becomes a lifelong effort.

"Everywhere on Earth where there are conflicts, fairness can replace injustice and dialogue can replace hostility," Zen says. "I would like readers to live more consciously and realize how much good can be done with little effort."

An excerpt from "Project Love":

"Fifteen-year-old Quincy had an idea for a project: Inspired by Love-One Month. What could he do if everything he did was based on love? With his friend's help, he decided to start the project. Everyone could participate. All they had to do was act out of love: in life, at work, in school, during sports, and during free time. Bit by bit, many people would change their own worlds into something good, something better. And the project would continue on and on."
