LITTLETON, Colo.

Lily, the wife of a deployed military man, lives each day encumbered by the fear that her husband won't return home. She's managed this fear, but only through her constant efforts to transform their home into a place of peace and love in anticipation of her husband's return. Unfortunately, she is about to receive a call that will change everything.

Author Laine Faro invites readers to embark on an emotional journey in her new romance novel, "Cannoli for the Cop Next Door: Corsco Family Series" (published by Lulu), which tells the story of Lily and her struggle to live without her husband.

Knowing her husband will never again come home, Lily decides to sell the house she worked so hard to create. She finds a new start in a new home and decides to pursue a career in baking, as her friends all rave about her food. Furthering this drive is her hunky new neighbor's adoration for her food.

"Cannoli for the Cop Next Door" follows Lily as she not only discovers success in her new career in baking, but also learns how to live again. Readers will get to tag along as Lily and her new neighbor, Brady, as they both struggle to get past the pain that loss brings with it.

"Allow yourself to find love and happiness after mourning your loss," Faro says. "Enjoy life every day. Life is too short not to."
