An inspiring tale of a woman and the feline family that came to her home one fateful day is shared by the author LaVera Edick in her second book "CAT TALES: KITTY CAPERS AND MORE" (published by Trafford Publishing). This book emphasizes the unconditional love of animals for their humans and the importance of pets in the lives of persons with disabilities and those in the nursing homes and hospitals, as well as loving companions to their owners, especially to children and the elderly.

Edick's cousin Ruth, the woman who adopted a family of cats, exchanged weekly letters and daily journals with the author. Their correspondence became the inspiration for the story, given a special dedication with Edick's 46 personal paintings and photos.

It began when a half-starved stray cat came to Ruth's door. Against her better judgment she fed him and fell in love with him-only to find out that "him" was a very pregnant "her." Ruth named her Lady and was very disappointed when she disappeared. However, she was only gone for a few days and returned bringing a gift-a tiny blue-grey kitten that she dropped at Ruth's feet. The cat would leave, but come back every day to feed her baby. It was a week later before she brought the second baby, then the third and the fourth.

Edick aims to inspire with her creation; reminding readers that "love is the most important health attribute we have, and pets are one of nature's best sources of love."
